White Rice Conventional Method: 2 cups of water; 1 cup of Rico rice; salt and oil to taste. 1. In a medium sauce pan, add salt and oil to water and bring to a boil. 2. Add the rice to the boiling water, stirring only once to mix the ingredients. 3. Cook uncovered on high until water is absorbed, approximately 10 minutes. 4. Stir rice once. 5. Cover and cook on very low heat for 20 minutes. You may vary the amount of water depending on your personal taste. It is important to stir rice only once so that the consistency of the rice will be tender but not mushy. White Rice Microwave: 1-3/4 cups of water; 1 cup of Rico rice; salt and oil to taste. 1. Place ingredients in a 2 quart covered pan for microwaves. 2. Cook on high heat for 5 minutes. 3. Next cook on medium heat for 10 minutes. 4. Let it rest covered for 5 minutes. The rice should not be uncovered during preparation time.
